What is a Sip and Paint?

So when I say I run 'Sip and Paint' events, most people are intrigued but have no idea what I am actually talking about!

A 'Sip and Paint' is an evening filled with friends, laughter and excitement. It really is a chance to let go of the stress in your life and get together with friends. As you arrive, you will be given a welcome drink and in front of you at your table will be an easel. You don't need any art experience at all as I will talk you through it all step by step.

On your table, you will have a set of brushes, a palette, jar of water and some kitchen roll as well as your canvas stood on its easel. You will pop on an apron and chat to your friends as we all gather.

We will all paint the same acrylic painting, however, everyone's will look different as they put their own spin on it... that's the beauty of art. I split the paint into 4 stages so you have opportunities to chat to each other, top up drinks, go to the toilet and go around and look at everyone's work.

One of my favourite things is hearing people start off saying, "I am not a painter!" then when everyone is going round looking at each others' work seeing how everyone builds each other up as the compliments flow. Then by the end, I hear people saying, "I didn't know I could do that."

So why not give it a go?! What is the worst that can happen? You end up with a painting you aren't keen on... doesn't matter... you leave with all the treasured memories of a fun evening and the people you painted it with. But if you paint something you are proud of, even better, you hang it on your wall for visitors to see and you can say with pride, "I painted that!"
